Drone Inspection & Assessment

BEPG uses multiple drone technologies for the assessment & inspection of buildings and other structures. Our state-of-the-art drones allow us to perform checks in areas that were previously:

  • Inaccessible due to conditions that would interfere with typical drone operations, such as
    • within GPS-denied environments,
    • around high concentrations of steel and other materials that would impact drone positioning magnetometers, and
    • around high electronic interference areas.
  • Difficult to reach without expensive and time-consuming equipment such as
    • expensive aerial lifts,
    • cranes,
    • scaffolding, and
    • other safety equipment.

Our drone obstacle avoidance features allow us to fly within inches of a structure for inspection and provide excellent detail and resolution.

The information collected from the drone is compiled into a scalable model to document existing building conditions quickly. Our 3D models allow clients, designers, and contractors up-to-date visual access to entire building enclosures without sifting through hundreds or thousands of photos.

Drone Inspection Services

Photogrammetry (also known as 3D Modeling) is a standalone service and a component of BEPG’s overall Assessment & Diagnostic services. Our drones enable BEPG to conduct:

  • 3D Modeling
  • Solar Panel System inspections
  • Communication Tower & Roof-Mounted Equipment inspections
  • Facade inspections

3D Modeling

It’s not just the movies: 3D Modeling is starting to take off in the real world.

We use drones equipped with high-resolution cameras to take pictures of buildings or other objects from multiple angles. Our drone software stitches the images together to create a detailed 3D model.

This technology has many applications, from surveying land for development projects to creating models of historical buildings for preservation purposes. And since we operate the drones remotely, there’s no need to put people in harm’s way to get the data you need.

Solar Panel System Inspections

Solar panel system inspections are essential for maintaining a solar energy system. Using drones to conduct these inspections saves time and money. Drones can quickly and easily get into tight spaces to examine the panels and look for any damage or problems. This maneuverability eliminates the need for someone to inspect the panels manually and helps to identify any potential issues before they become serious.

Communication Tower and Roof-Mounted Equipment Inspections

Increasingly, we are using drones to inspect communication towers and other roof-mounted equipment. Drones provide a close-up view of the equipment without sending someone up on a ladder or scaffold. In addition, drones let us check areas that are difficult or dangerous to reach, such as the top of a cell tower.

We perform inspections of roof-mounted equipment more quickly and efficiently with a drone, which helps reduce downtime and improve safety and save time and money.

Facade Inspections

BEPG uses drones to conduct facade inspections, as they provide a quick and easy way to get a high-level overview of the condition of a building. We can do this without using a ladder or other access equipment regardless of the height and accessibility of the building. The drone pictures enable us to analyze a building’s facade comprehensively.

Assessing a Building or Structure after Drone Inspection

Drones are becoming an increasingly popular option for various types of inspections. For example, their ability to quickly and easily get into tight spaces makes them perfect for inspecting solar panels, communication towers, and other roof-mounted equipment.

Using drones for facade inspections and creating 3D models provide a quick overview of the condition of a building. If you need an assessment of your building or structure, consider using BEPG’s Drone Inspection & Assessment services to save time and money.
